Dracula - a character that is always en vogue for so many centuries, is a name that inspired and still inspire many legends, a word that brings fear into some regions where it is spoken, show the real identity: demon, wear wolf, vampire, or fearless leader, unmerciful, unforgiving; a fighter for law, for justice and liberty.

Vlad The Impaler - the descendent of Mircea The Old

Vlas The Impaler is one of the fiew Romanian leaders who’s biography can’t be reconstructed without considering the legends. This is because the documents of his time and about him were not so many and the legends have been acknowledged when he was still alive and after his death also.

One of the sons of Mircea the Old was Vlad, called “Dracul”. From 1431 untill 1436, Vlad Dracul lived in Transylvania, at Sighisoara. In 1428-1429 a son of him was born, and was named Mircea, like his father. Not long after, another son was born and he was named as him, Vlad. Vlad, the son of Vlad Dracul appears in the documents of the time at 20 of January 1437.

The first document he wrote is the letter from 31 of October 1448.Vlad the Impaler became a great leader, a restless fighter for freedom and justice for his contry and the south-eastern Europe, which was hoping him to save them of slavery. For all this part of Europe his name was known and he became a symbol, not for the evil, but for the true hope.
